Service with Integrity
The whole reason I became a mechanic originates from an experience I had when I was a sophomore in high school. My first car had a charging system problem, so I took it to a shop and told the mechanic that was all I wanted fixed. He did fix it, but he also changed all the hoses and belts. He gave me a $350 bill (which is a lot of money when you're 16 and working a part-time job) even though I hadn't asked him to do any of that work. In that moment I told myself that I was going to learn how to do this stuff myself. That's why I want my customers to know that I want to serve you well and will never charge you for the things you don't need.

About Me
Jim verduin
Ever since I was a child, I've been fascinated with taking things apart and putting them back together. I soon began experimenting on cars and learning how to fix them on my own, later refining my skills by working in body shops. After high school I attended a trade school on a full scholarship. After several years of working at a couple dealerships and doing additional work out of my home garage, I decided it was time to own my own shop. I've been operating Verduin Automotive since 2015. I work and live in Cedar Lake, am happily married with four beautiful children.
